Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this bin if you need a large, hands-free solution for busy households or offices. The 24-gallon capacity reduces how often you change bags. The motion sensor is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, or clinics where hygiene matters. The oval shape works well in corners or against walls. If you want a durable, easy-to-clean bin that blends with modern décor, this model fits your needs.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if you prefer a round bin or one with a built-in step pedal. The motion sensor requires you to wave your hand, which some users find less precise than a foot pedal. You must buy D batteries separately for backup power. The design lacks a swing lid for manual use if the sensor fails. If you need a compact 13-gallon size, look at the smaller variation instead.
Verdict: This bin offers generous capacity and convenient hands-free operation in a space-saving oval shape. It is a practical choice for busy kitchens and offices that prioritize hygiene and odor control.
Key specs for this trash can
Capacity: 24 Gallon / 91L
This volume holds a significant amount of waste, which reduces how often you need to empty the bin or change the liner. It is suitable for busy households, offices, or commercial spaces where large amounts of trash accumulate quickly. You will benefit from fewer interruptions to your routine. When shopping, compare this to smaller 13-gallon models to see if the extra space justifies the larger footprint for your specific needs.
Opening Mechanism: Motion Sensor
The lid opens automatically when you wave your hand nearby, allowing for completely hands-free operation. This feature is ideal for maintaining hygiene in kitchens, bathrooms, or clinics where you might have dirty hands. It supports accessibility standards and prevents cross-contamination. You should look for this technology if you prioritize sanitary waste disposal and convenience, especially in homes with children or pets who might touch surfaces.
Power Source: AC Adapter, 4 D Batteries
You can plug the unit directly into a wall outlet for continuous power, or use four D batteries as a backup. This dual option ensures the sensor lid remains functional even during power outages. You do not need to worry about the unit becoming useless if the electricity fails. When comparing options, check if your installation spot has an accessible outlet or if you prefer the flexibility of battery operation in locations without easy power access.
Primary Material: Stainless Steel
The body is constructed from stainless steel with a smudge-proof finish that resists fingerprints and stays clean with minimal wiping. This material is durable and blends well with modern home or office decor. You will appreciate the easy maintenance and sleek appearance that does not show daily wear as easily as other finishes. Look for this material if you want a long-lasting, stylish bin that maintains its look in high-traffic areas.
Odor Filter: AbsorbX Filter
An integrated filter helps trap unpleasant odors inside the bin, keeping your immediate environment fresh. The product includes smart alerts to remind you when it is time to replace the filter, ensuring consistent performance. You will benefit from a more pleasant kitchen or bathroom atmosphere. Compare this feature to basic bins without filtration to see if odor control is a priority for your space and if you value proactive maintenance reminders.
Design and Build Details
The listing describes a stainless steel body with a smudge-proof finish. This material choice helps keep the exterior clean in busy kitchens or offices. You do not need to wipe away fingerprints after every use. The oval shape is designed to fit flush against walls. This layout saves floor space while maintaining a large footprint for waste. The unit measures 17.5 inches long, 12.4 inches wide, and 33 inches high. These dimensions allow it to slide into corners or tight alcoves where round bins might protrude too far.
Weight is listed at 9.8 pounds. This makes the bin stable during use but light enough to move for cleaning or repositioning. You control the lid via a motion sensor. According to the listing, waving your hand opens the lid instantly. This hands-free operation supports hygiene standards and accessibility requirements. You can power the device using the included AC adapter or four D batteries. The dual power options let you place the unit near an outlet or in areas without easy access to electricity. The design prioritizes durability and space efficiency for high-traffic environments.
Setup and Everyday Use Guide
Setting up this iTouchless bin involves choosing your power source. The listing includes an AC adapter for continuous plug-in operation. You can also use four D batteries if you prefer a cord-free setup near a wall outlet. The unit weighs 9.8 pounds, making it easy to position in any corner.
Daily use relies on the Premium Hands-Free Sensor 2.0 Technology. You simply wave your hand near the sensor to open the lid instantly. This motion-activated mechanism provides hygienic, touch-free convenience, which is useful in kitchens or offices. The oval shape measures 17.5 inches long and 12.4 inches wide, allowing it to fit flush against walls to save floor space.
The 24-gallon capacity holds up to 91 liters of waste. This large volume means you change liners less often, which is practical for busy households or commercial settings. The design includes no inner bucket, providing 25% more room for bulky items like pillowcases or large boxes.
Odor control is managed by the built-in AbsorbX filter. This component traps smells to keep the surrounding air fresh. The listing notes that the system includes free text reminders to alert you when it is time to replace the filter. The stainless steel finish resists smudges and fingerprints, so you do not need to clean the exterior frequently. This setup supports ADA accessibility standards by eliminating the need to touch the lid.
Before You Buy This Trash Can
Before adding this bin to your kitchen or office, verify your power setup. The listing includes an AC adapter, but you must purchase four D batteries separately if you want cord-free placement. Check the 17.5 by 12.4 inch footprint to ensure it fits flush against your wall without blocking doors or drawers. The 24-gallon capacity means you will need standard 24-gallon trash bags. These are widely available, but confirm your preferred brand fits the oval shape. You will need to replace the AbsorbX odor filter periodically. The listing notes smart text alerts for this, so keep your contact info updated. This unit is a trash can, not a dishwasher. Do not confuse it with the 1 dishwashers reviewed here. It handles waste, not dishes. If you need a hands-free waste solution for high-traffic areas, this spec sheet confirms it meets ADA and OSHA guidelines for hygiene. Ensure your space allows for the 33-inch height and that you have access to an outlet or are prepared for battery changes.
