Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this faucet if you want precise water control without touching surfaces. The motion sensor and voice activation suit busy cooks who need hands-free operation. The app integration allows you to customize voice commands and set safety limits. The pull-down sprayer adds versatility for filling large pots. If you prefer a modern aesthetic with a matte black finish, this model fits your design needs. The temperature hold feature is useful for tasks requiring consistent heat.
Who should skip it
You might want to look elsewhere if you do not want to use a smartphone app or smart speaker. This model relies on digital integration for its full feature set. If you prefer a purely mechanical faucet with no electronic components, this is not the right choice. The matte black finish may require more maintenance to avoid water spots compared to chrome options. Additionally, the price point for this smart technology is higher than basic models. If you need a simple, non-connected faucet, consider a standard Moen option.
Verdict: The Moen Sinema Smart Faucet offers robust touchless and voice control features for modern kitchens. Its precise dispensing and customizable app settings make it a strong choice for tech-savvy users.
Key specs explained
Control Type: Touchless
This faucet uses advanced sensor technology at the front to detect hand motions. You can control water flow and temperature without touching the hardware. This is useful for keeping the faucet clean when your hands are dirty. It also allows for hands-free operation, which is convenient when carrying items. Compare this feature with standard manual handles in other kitchen fixtures.
Height: 4.5 inches
The spout height is listed as 4.5 inches in the provided data. This dimension affects the clearance above your sink basin. A lower profile may limit the size of pots you can fit underneath. Ensure this height accommodates your tallest dishes or containers. Compare this measurement with other kitchen faucets to ensure it fits your specific sink layout and usage needs.
Color: Matte Black
The finish is specified as Matte Black. This color choice offers a modern aesthetic that contrasts with stainless steel appliances. Matte finishes often hide fingerprints and water spots better than glossy surfaces. This can reduce the frequency of cleaning required to maintain its appearance. Compare this finish with chrome or polished nickel options to see which best matches your kitchen decor style.
Features: Smart, Pull Down Sprayer
This unit includes a pull-down sprayer for flexible rinsing and smart capabilities for voice and app control. The sprayer allows you to direct water precisely where needed. The smart features enable voice activation through speakers and control via a mobile application. This combination offers both mechanical flexibility and digital convenience. Compare these features with basic sprayers that lack connectivity options.
Design and build specs
According to the listing, this faucet features a matte black finish. You get a pull-down sprayer and touchless control as standard. The model S7235EV2BL weighs 10.7 pounds. Its overall length is 31.8 inches. The height sits at 4.5 inches. The width measures 14.3 inches. These dimensions define the physical footprint in your kitchen sink area. You need to check your counter space before installation. The matte black coating requires regular cleaning to maintain its look. Water spots may show more easily than on chrome versions. The listing notes that this unit is part of a larger Sinema line. Other variations exist in chrome, polished nickel, and spot resist stainless. You can choose different heights and patterns if this specific size does not fit your layout. The weight suggests a sturdy metal construction. It is not a lightweight plastic fixture. The pull-down sprayer adds flexibility for filling large pots. You can extend the head away from the base. This design supports both deep basin cleaning and general rinsing tasks. The touchless sensor is positioned at the front. It does not interfere with the handle’s mechanical movement. You can operate the sprayer manually or via motion. The finish is purely aesthetic but defines the visual style of your kitchen. It pairs well with dark cabinetry or industrial decor. The physical controls remain accessible even when using voice or app commands. You are not locked into smart features for basic operation.
Setup and everyday use guide
This faucet offers four distinct ways to operate it. You can mix and match these methods regardless of where the handle is positioned. The options include advanced sensor control, voice activation via a smart speaker, the Moen Smart Water App, or the manual handle. Setup involves connecting these digital controls to your home network and configuring the app settings. Once installed, daily use is highly flexible. The advanced sensor at the front detects hand motions to control temperature and flow. You swipe left for hot water, right for cold, or down for warm. Holding your hand over the sensor turns the water off. You can also use voice commands if you have a compatible smart speaker. The app allows you to customize generic terms like hot, cold, and warm. You can also set safety and security features here. The faucet precisely dispenses water at desired temperatures and volumes. You can set it for as little as two tablespoons or as much as fifteen gallons. When you activate a temperature command, the water runs to that temperature and then pauses. It holds the temperature until you are ready to use it. An LED indicator changes color from blue to purple to red. This visual cue shows the current water temperature. This system keeps your kitchen workflow efficient and hygienic. You avoid touching surfaces when your hands are dirty. The pull-down sprayer adds versatility for rinsing dishes or cleaning the sink area.
Before You Buy This Faucet
Before you buy this Moen Sinema Matte Black Smart Faucet, verify your kitchen sink layout. The listing shows a width of 14.3 inches and a height of 4.5 inches. Ensure your countertop space accommodates these dimensions alongside other fixtures. Check your smart home setup for compatibility. You need a Wi-Fi connection to use the Moen Smart Water App for custom voice commands and security settings. The faucet requires power, so confirm your under-sink area has an accessible outlet for the adapter. Maintenance involves wiping the matte black finish with a soft cloth to prevent water spots. This model targets kitchens, not bathrooms or bars. It sits apart from standard dishwashers in this guide. While dishwashers clean dishes, this faucet manages water flow and temperature. You should consider it only if you want touchless operation and precise volume control, down to two tablespoons. It does not replace cleaning appliances but complements them by improving water efficiency during prep.
